Last night, I couldn’t get Cash to lay down. I could tell it was painful for him. Eventually, he laid down because he fell asleep and fell over. I’m waiting for the vet to return my phone call. Cash shouldn’t be this uncomfortable.
I slept out on the couch so I could be close to him in case he needed anything. Other than not being able to lay down, he’s doing great. Hopefully, the vet will give him some pain meds.
poor baby! You must be so stressed too.
When my pup had surgery they gave her a shot of long acting pain meds afterward that held her over for about 24-36 hours and then gave me oral pain meds to give her at home. Maybe they can do something for him now.

They gave him some long acting morphine before he came home, but he still wasn’t comfortable. Hopefully I can get the vet to give me some oral pain meds for him today. I’m just waiting for the vet to return my call. He has incisions on every part of his body, so no matter how he tries to lay down, he would be laying on incisions.

he’s and older dog like jimmy. i just think first time users of cones that age don’t know what to do with with new thing, so they quietly freak and freeze, too. i feels like the only thing to do.
