I found out yesterday that my dog, Cash, has multiple cancerous masses in his spleen. There are a few options, but none of them are good. Chemo is an option, but it’s not one that we want to do. It causes too many side effects and we don’t know how effective it would be. We could also remove his spleen. However, that is extremely dangerous; he may not make it through the surgery and even if he does, it would only give him about 6 more months. Plus, the cancer could spread because it’s in his blood, so the surgery may not be that effective. We’ve decided to play it day by day. We just want him to be comfortable and happy.

I appreciate your kind thoughts. At least I can make his last few days/weeks/months wonderful (we have no clue how much time he has).

I’m so sorry. It is tough to see them sick. I just went through this with Buster and it was hard to let go. You will know when it is the right time so he doesn’t suffer too much. Ash loves you and we do too.

Yes, I rescued him from the humane society when he was about 4 or 6 months old. He had been severely beaten and starved.

I am very sorry to hear this news. I know it is not easy as I have been in yours shoes not too long ago. Spend as much time with him as you can and take lots of pictures….you will be glad you did later on down the road.

I’ve been awhile for awhile. Sorry to come back to read this news about Mr. Cash. Spend every moment you can with him …lots of snuggles and hugs. Wish there were better options for you …I’ve been there and it sucks.
